Why SHIFT Exists

Most AI pilots fail because they start with a model instead of the operating system around the work. SHIFT starts with the workflow, then decides whether AI belongs in it.

Each phase answers a different executive question:

  • Is the pain real? Volume, cost, quality, and risk.
  • Should this be automated? Human vs AI boundaries.
  • Can it be trusted? Evals, sources, monitoring, and escalation.
  • Will the team use it? Handoff, training, and adoption.

The Framework

Each step of SHIFT builds on the previous one, creating a practical workflow change rather than an isolated point solution.

The framework comes from Paul's experience building internal Google workflow tools, regulated Bitcoin infrastructure, and production AI systems where reliability matters.

Our Promise
